Cultural group 2016

On Saturday 26th of November Owairaka District school  performed at Rocket Park and this was my Cultural group and the cultural is Irish.

While Kauri  was at camp some Kauri and Puriri kids did a outdoor experience. I had fun. The 3 I enjoyed the most were, putting up a tent, making a pizza and the confidence course.

       If you were a superhero what

           Powers would you have ?

                       

Imagine if you were a superhero. What powers would you have out of these elements? Nature, Ice, Electricity or fire.  By the the way my name is Leila and I will be talking to you about what powers you could have if you were a superhero, so let's get started.     

The first element is Nature. If you had nature powers  you could make magical stones that can lift you up when you're falling off a cliff. Very handy as superhero are pushed off many things.

The second element is ice. You could turn people to ice and they would never ever unfreeze again. This is best used when someone is about to blast your head off!

The third element is electricity. You could make it rain and also could make things get electrocuted. This is very useful when you are fighting monsters.

And the last element is fire and you can turn people into lava, set buildings on fire and stop just about anything. Another handy power.

So which one would you choose? Nature, Ice, Electricity or fire. I would choose nature because it's definitely the best power.

Olympic Writing

As you know, the Olympic Games have started over in Rio.  We will use this great festival of sport for our prompt this week.

• How do you feel? EXCITED AND HAPPY

I could see the finish line, then someone said ON YOUR MARKS. GET SET .GO, and then I ran as fast as I could. There was only 200 meters.  I thought that there  was not much time left to reach the front of the runner then my ears really started to hurt because people were calling my name LEILA, LEILA, LEILA.  When there was only 100 metres to go I had to go faster because someone else was in the lead. I just said to myself Leila, you can do this and with only 5 more seconds to go I out in more effort and I went past the finish line. I could believe that I actually won. I was so proud of myself, yay. Then I got given a beautiful golden medal, yay .

The ghost of Anne Tottenham?

21 year old English man, Thomas Beavis, snapped a pretty spooky photo whilst on a tour of a haunted mansion in Ireland.

Thomas was flicking through the photos on his camera from the tour of Lotus Hall and was shocked to find a ghostly figure of what appears to be a young girl in the background of one of his shots.

Thomas says that everyone was already feeling a little spooked after the tour but after he showed his friends the photo, they freaked out.

Legend tells of Lotus Hall being home to the Tottenham family in 1766 and soon after the youngest child, Anne, became ill and claimed to have witnessed a paranormal experience of her own – leading her parents to lock the girl away in one of the rooms until she died.

Thomas says he got the chills when he found the spooky figure in the photo and still doesn’t quite believe what he has captured on camera.

Plane missing over Egypt

on may 20th An Air Egypt plane has gone missing while travelling from Paris to Cairo.

The plane faded from radar 10 miles after entering Egyptian airspace, about 2.30am local time.

Authorities have found debris likely to be from the plane and body parts were ripped aprt .

Today me and my class were going onto kiwi-kids news 

A ten year old boy  received $10,000  from face book 

from Facebook for finding and reporting a security flaw he discovered on its photo- and video-sharing service Instagram. but  the young hacker is three years shy of the age required to open an account on Facebook, he can’t even share the good news.
